The poem is actually the lyrics to a song I wrote several years ago. My Youngest Son wrote a beautiful musical score for it at the time, and someday I will put that music to the background of the poem on this site. (He holds Copyright to the music).
The story takes place several decades in the future, at a time when traveling to the stars is a reality. The words are the lament of a man who is looking for his soulmate. He does not know where she is in the universe. He only knows that she exists and is out there somewhere, and, hopefully waiting for him to find her.
