The following is my own satirical response to a book entitled, "Fart Proudly", written in the 18th century by Benjamin Franklin. He was a famous Philosopher and Statesman, But he also had a great sense of humor that resulted in Freedom of the Press for our country. The book is still available at bookstores and is fun reading.

Some farts smell like popcorn

The worst are from fried eggs

Most are warm and dry, but then

Some run down your legs!

Some farts kind’o linger

On travel far and wide

Some smell like a sickly skunk

Crawled up inside and died!

Silent ones are sneaky

We know not whence they came

Others, loud and proud, it seems-

They almost say your name!

Let one fly beneath the sheets,

You’ll never live it down

Some leave behind a memory-

Skid marks- streaks of brown!

You might wonder why I write

About the old P.U.

But it’s what we have in common,

It’s something we all do!

From Aristotle to Einstein-

We’ve passed down year-to-year

A blend of noxious gases

That became our atmosphere!

So, here’s to those that sing along

Sometimes they even boast

To those that say they never do-

We know They do the most!
