Behold the noblest of the planets,

With your mighty, golden sphere,

Proudly showing swirling colors,

Swimming in your atmosphere

To get a closer look at you,

We sent our voyager probe

We gape in awe at pictures sent,

Of your majestic globe

Your giant, oval Red Spot,

Eight thousand miles wide,

Perhaps a bleeding remnant from

Volcanoes in your side

Perhaps a comet, meant for us,

Was pulled away by you?

Your gravitation saving us,

The wound now showing through

More than a hundred planet Earths

Could fit beneath your sky,

Five hundred million miles away

Your light still stuns the eye

Europa and Callisto,

Io and Ganymede,

The Galilean satellites,

Are mighty moons indeed

These, largest of your many moons,

Swing in and out of sight

They march in admiration,

While basking in your light

The greeks once called you Zeus "The King"

To lesser gods you’re chief

You’ve touched the heart of many parts

Of history’s beliefs

Mighty ruler of the planets,

King in all your glory, still,

Please accept our humble praises,

Guard our Solar System well.
