Angel of the Sea

Come and rescue me

From the darkened fathoms

Of a land that used to be.

Your warm soft hand will guide me

Safely back to shore

Let me see the surface

And the Evening Star once more.

I will sit upon your rock

And brush your pretty hair

I’ll gaze upon your angel face

And loving smile so fair.

And you will sing a song to soothe

This weary sailor’s heart

Telling me of what will be,

You’ll say "We’ll never part".

Like the seagull’s plaintive cry

And the Mighty ocean’s roar,

Or Venus’ Light

That pierces Night

Love - forevermore.
