When first They gaze at your splendor,

People always remember the sight

For the light seems to bring

Your magnificent rings

Through the telescope field at night.

Against the ebony background,

You stand out in brilliant relief

The wheel you reveal

Always looks so unreal,

That you steal the show like a thief.

Drifting along the ecliptic,

Your glowing, elliptical sphere,

Has rings, yellow-gold,

And so, I am told,

Sometimes they just disappear.

You complete only one revolution

‘Round the Sun every twenty-nine years

And tagging along,

Is your satellite throng,

Great Titan, and seventeen peers.

Most unique of the four major planets,

In ten hours you turn out a day

With ten times the girth

Of our own planet Earth,

You’re the grandest by far and away.
