Somewhere there’s a pristine place,
Beside a peaceful lake,
Surrounded by majestic trees,
That only God could make.
A babbling brook and wild flowers,
Paint the land around,
And butterfies flutter by,
Close to the grassy ground.
A light blue sky above is filled,
With white and fluffy dreams,
And purple shadows dance around
Yellow, warming beams.
The birds are singing high above,
To celebrate the scene,
My eyes are filled with rainbow light,
Reds and blues and greens.
The air is filled with fragrance,
Sweet upon my nose,
From flowers, trees, and mountain air,
And everything that grows.
Alone, I bask in Springtime,
In love with Mother Earth,
And join her joy in bringing forth,
This season. This new birth.
But it will wait another day,
I have to go to work,
And spend the day, to get my pay,
And put up with some jerk.
